A Texas Wine and Music Festival That Gives Back
Sommly is a proud sponsor of Texas Wine Jam, a Texas wine and music festival taking place on 9/4/22 in Johnson City, Texas.
“We jumped at the opportunity to sponsor Texas Wine Jam as a community partner and advocate of Texas wine. An event supporting two great causes, featuring several of our favorite local wineries, and three local bands – we are excited to be a part of it!” – Sara & Erik Wagner, Sommly Co-Founders
Stop by and say hello to our team the day of the event, as we’ll have a nice, shaded tent setup, some festive games, giveaways, prizes, four-legged friends, and more! We’ll also be thrilled to answer questions and help out with free account setup on Sommly.
- Date: September 4, 2022
- Time: 12pm – 6pm (VIP ticket holders can enter at 11am)
- Location: at Vinovium Winery – 214 Edmonds Ave. Johnson City 78636
Texas Wine Jam is all about celebrating our love for great Texas wine and music while giving back to
those communities that make it possible. The festival shines a light on new and off-the-beaten-path
wineries along with a few “oldies, but goodies” that we’ve really come to love and the local music that
feeds our soul and drives the “Cool” of Central Texas.
It’s also about supporting two very impactful causes
that support local music and local wine – The SIMS Foundation and Texas Wine Community
Scholarships. Four-dollars from every ticket sold will be split between these two organizations.
The festival features a showcase of 15 Texas wineries including Vinovium (event producer), 12 Fires
Winery, AB Astris, Adega Vinho, Crowson, Esperanza Winery, Hye Meadow Winery, Kuhlman Cellars,
Saint Tryphon, Siboney Cellars, Spicewood Vineyards, Westcave Cellars, Tatum Cellars, Sandy Road
Vineyards and Lost Oak Winery. A big element of this event is the raffle, which will help drive bottle sales.
For every bottle of wine a guest purchases at the festival they are automatically entered into a raffle to win one of several mixed-cases of wine from wineries attending the festival, in addition to gifts sponsored by the festival’s Community Partners.
The festival also features three live performances from local bands. At 11am The Lost Pines take the Frost Bank stage. They are an Austin bluegrass band that was named a runner up in the bluegrass category of the Austin Chronicle’s Annual Readers’ Poll. At 1:30pm the Scott Strickland Band performs who is gaining notoriety for his big voice and budding songwriting talent that according to Matt Sullivan of DO512 is “reminiscent of Ritchie Havens, Bill Withers, David Crosby or Joni Mitchell”. Lastly, the Joey Green Band performs at 4pm who’s most recently known for his success on NBC’s The Voice. Green has become a household name in Texas for his rock ‘n’ roll to soul country rollercoaster ride of a live show.
The festival is proud to call the following companies its 2022 lineup of Community Partners and Sponsors: The Wine & Food Foundation, Waterloo Sparkling Water, The Austin Texas Wine Society, The Vind, Sommly, Wrenwood Ranch, The Sustainable Food Center, Go Texan and Frost Bank.
General Admission and VIP tickets are now available for sale at www.txwinejam.com for $45 and $55 respectively. VIP tickets allow for early entrance into the festival at 11am and include 5 additional raffle tickets. Other Festival features include food for sale from Chef Billy Brown of Sunday House Market and Cowboy Cantina as well as shopping from local vendors.
About Texas Wine Community Scholarships: The Texas Wine Community Scholarships was established in 2019 by Vinovium Partners and the Wine & Food Foundation. These scholarships are funded by donations directly from Texas wine industry members. These academic scholarships are awarded to Texas residents enrolled in a school or college program related to and benefiting the Texas Wine Industry.
About The SIMS Foundation: The SIMS Foundation provides mental health and substance use recovery services and supports for musicians, music industry professionals, and their dependent family members. Through education, community partnerships, and accessible managed care, SIMS seeks to destigmatize and reduce mental health and substance use issues, while supporting and enhancing the wellbeing of the music community at large.
