Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs selects Sommly to participate in Spring 2022 Cohort
We’re excited to announce that Sommly will officially be joining the Texas Venture Labs Accelerator program! TVL is a campus-wide initiative to accelerate startups in taking their innovations to market and to transform graduate students into entrepreneurs and business leaders, by joining a group of local startups participating in the Spring 2022 semester.
The Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs Accelerator matches startups with cross-functional teams of University of Texas at Austin graduate students for consulting projects. The program’s rigorous market validation process and students’ research accelerates startups towards funding.
The timing couldn’t be better for Sommly, as we gear up to launch our DTC eCommerce marketplace in the coming weeks. As a pre-seed startup, Sommly seeks to quickly achieve product-market fit, traction and market validation, such that we’re poised for scale and can become an attractive new venture prospect for the investment community. In partnership with Texas graduate students, we seek to shore up key aspects of our go-to-market plan, execute on growth and marketing initiatives, mitigate any legal challenges, and refine our investor pitch (to name a few).
Sommly’s co-founder, Erik Wagner, has loved staying involved with the university, since earning his MBA from the McCombs School of Business in 2017. We’re honored to be a part of the accelerator cohort, and we look forward to partnering with the brightest minds at University of Texas at Austin on some exciting projects! Per the University of Texas at Austin’s motto, “What starts here changes the world!”
